Senior High Youth Program
The
Evansville United Methodist senior high youth program is designed for
those students in 9th grade through 12th grade (or equivalent). All
kids within this age are welcome to attend, regardless of church
affiliation.
Sunday school runs approximately the first week of
September through the last week of May after the service. Extra
activities are done on a pre-arranged date/time and are generally on
weekends or in the early hours of the evening.
The Senior High
youth program focuses on current topics of concern for high school kids,
and is designed to be fun, informative, thought provoking, and mutually
nurturing. Some recent activities the Senior High program focused on
included:
• Discussion and review of current world religions
• Discussion and review of a shelter geared towards young adults working to kick dependent habits
• Overnight attendance at Wisconsin UMC Senior High Youth Convo
• Week long Senior High Mission Trip
• Fundraising for adult Missions trip
• Participation in Souper Bowl of caring
• Church fundraising
• Bible Study
• Pasty bake sale
• Sledding party
• Ski outing
During
Sunday School/Youth activities, kids learn to work with one another,
help each other, build life-long friendships, interact with other
adults, begin to form their own personal relationship with God and
understand themselves.
